Hitting 7Ghz
A few months ago we were given access to Intels secret overclocking labs on the second floor of Jones farm 3, I cannot tell you exactly where and I would like that to remain secret.
We had a chance to test the new Kaby Lake CPU on LN2 with the next generation chipset, the Z270 that is touted as having 15% more IO than Z170. The motherboard is an Asus Maximus Z270 running Galax B-Die HOF memory. After about 2 hours of getting setup it took me about 1 hour to breach 7Ghz with a full pot of LN2 @ -191c. These chips run cold and did not exhibit any cold bug or cold boot bug. Thanks Intel, Asus, and Galax! |
