I setup the OS on the AC assisted AOI I was able to reach 5.3Ghz with Hyperthreading disabled fairly easy and I managed 5.6Ghz validation on the chilled water.
Once setup, next logical step was to remove the IHS with a de-lid tool. Stepping up to phase change cooling we will see a lot more submissions reaching 6Ghz, this CPU is one of the best overclocking CPU's since the Conroe. Amazing durable preocessor capable of handling 2 volts with a full pot of LN2, these processors scale better than Skylake as finding a CPU to breach 7Ghz is much easier. I hit 6Ghz on all boards very easy on my QS processor, my CPU is exactly what is shipping as retail. I spent a bit of time on both Z170 and Z270 to see they are very close in performance and if you already have a Z170 you should be quite happy just upgrading the CPU. |
Autocascade: A single compressor phase change unit with a complex mixture of gasses to react in an even more complex series of heat exchange stages.
Each stage cools to reach condensing temperatures for the next stage. Usually multiple compressors are used to to reach similar temps, what makes this special is that it can hold sub zero temps at 6Ghz running Intel XTU. This is the only one in existence capable and operational in the world. 220v 2.5HP compressor running a mixture of Polycold 7500 and Tetrafuoroethane to reach a solid -120c at the evaporator. |
